As the youngest of five boys, Louis was strongly influenced by his father, who has a Ph.D. in Industrial Arts. Louis began racing in high school, when he would run Enduro Series races at both Raceway Park and Elko Speedways. As his skills increased, so did his dedication. In the past six years, he has competed in all but two races. This season he drove in several divisions at Raceway Park, and placed well in all of them, including sixth place in the Bombers Division, and a Top 20 finish in the Enduro Figure Eights. He also will finish in the top 20 in the Enduro Series. This is the third year in a row that he will have finished in the Top 20 overall in that division.
When hes not racing, Louis is helping others do so. One year, the team put together an Enduro car for his sons Cub Scout pack , and entered it in the Hopkins Raspberry Festival parade. Afterward, they took the car to Raceway Park, where two scout parents took take turns racing it. Even Louiss wife, Amy, has raced in an Enduro car. As she puts it, "Racing has possessed our family." Their sons (Andrew, 12; Kyle, 10; Sean, 7) have a vast knowledge of tools and can often be found under the car with Dad. Most importantly, they are Dads most devoted fans.
